Introduction

Jasmine White Tea is counted as one of the most fragrant teas world-over. The tea originates from the Fujian region in China. The tea leaves are usually plucked during April and are sun-dried before mixing them with layers of fresh jasmine flowers. The leaves are stored along with the flowers till they extract all the scent of the flowers.

Taste and appearance

Jasmine White Tea is made by adding the scent of jasmines to plain, dried white tea. The tea has a subtle taste, while its jasmine aroma soothes the senses. Jasmine White Tea looks similar to White Down Silver Needle tea, which means it has hair-like strands around the buds. The tea is mild with its flavors and has a smooth texture. It is among the highest grades of white tea. The leaves may be dark green or pale yellow in color, while the tea acquires a light yellowish-green tinge.

Health benefits

Jasmine White Tea offers several health benefits like reducing blood pressure level, strengthening gums and teeth and improving bone density. The tea is also popular for its skin benefits. The antioxidants present in the tea help fight premature aging. It also boosts intestinal movement, thereby helping the body get rid of harmful toxins. The tea is also said to aid weight loss.

Brewing

It is recommended that you use a Gaiwan to brew the tea as the authentic Chinese technique of brewing tea helps bring out the aromas and flavors of Jasmine White Tea to the fullest. You will need to add about three grams of Jasmine White Tea in 150 ml of water. The water temperature should be between 75 to 85 degrees Celsius. You can steep the tea for a minute. It can be brewed up to three times.
