www.Grandtea.com :: Oolong :: Wuyi Rock Tea (Yancha) :: Dai Hong Pao

Dai Hong Pao
Dai Hong Pao
Da Hung Pao was originated from wild tea bushes from Wuyi Mountain that reserved for the emperor. Like many tea, the name of Big Red Robe is based on a story. It says that a high rank officer got sick and no medicine could help him to recover, and one day a monk from Wuyi Mountain knocked his door and offered him some tea leafs from Wuyi Mountain as medicine. Incredibility, after he drank the tea he rapidly recovered from his sickness. And the high rank officer was so thankful to the monk that he rewarded this monk with a Big Red Robe.

We recommend using Kung Fu brewing for this very best tea. Fill the YiXing teapot half full with tea leaves and steep in hot water at 1/2 minute for the first and second brewings then gradually increase steeping time for following brewings. You can infuse the same tea leaf several times and with this Da Hong Pao you can infused it up to 7 times!
